  • Circumstantial
  • Spiritual
  • Physiological

2. I need to Hold on to my hope: “Put your hope in God”

WHAT IS HOPE?

Hope is the confident expectation of God’s faithfulness.

“We live by faith, not by sight.” 2 Corinthians 5:7 NIV

“Yet this I call to mind and therefore I have hope: Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. I say to myself, “The Lord is my portion; therefore I will wait for him.” The Lord is good to those whose hope is in him, to the one who seeks him;” Lamentations 3:21-25 NIV

“Though He slay me, yet will I hope in Him.” Job 13:15 NIV

3. I need to talk about it: Why so disturbed within me?

  • Talk to Jesus and listen to Him

“This is my Son, whom I love; with Him I am well pleased. Listen to Him. Matthew 17:5 NIV

  • Talk to a trusted friend

“Admit your faults to one another and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The earnest prayer of a righteous man has great power and wonderful results.” James 5:16 LB

  • Talk to yourself

“Christians spend to much time listening to themselves, when they should spend more time talking to themselves.” Martin Lloyd Jones

4. I need to Set my mind and heart on things above

“Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God.” Colossians 3:1-3 NIV

  • Worship & prayer: “Yet I will praise Him.”
  • Strategic scripture memory (I.E Isaiah 26:3)
  • Serve others
