Christmas Eve: What If Christmas Had Not Happened?

“Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel.” Isaiah 7:14 NIV

“For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” Mark 10:45 NIV

“Jesus answered them, “Destroy this temple, and I will raise it again in three days.” John 2:19 NIV

“For the Son of Man is going to come in his Father’s glory with his angels, and then he will reward each person according to what they have done.” Matthew 16:27 NIV

But what if Christmas had not happened?

•  We would not know what God is like
• We would not have peace
• We would not have hope
• We would not have a future
• We would still walk in darkness

“Those who walked in the dark have seen a bright light. And it shines upon everyone who lives in the land of darkest shadows.” Isaiah 9:2 CEV

“When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” John 8:12 NIV
