“For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.” Ephesians 2:10 NLT

“It is finished.” Jesus from the cross (John 19:30)

“Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you entirely; and may your spirit and soul and body be preserved complete, without blame at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. Faithful is He who calls you, and He also will bring it to pass.” 1 Thessalonians 5:2324 NASB 95

Sanctification is the process of becoming like Jesus in how think, act, and speak.

Sanctification is transformation.

Sanctification is the by-product of our discipleship unto Jesus.

We need to think of sanctification as being the lifelong remodeling project of God over our lives. We are under construction. It is finished but not yet.

The Process Of Our Transformation

  • Who does the transforming?

“Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you entirely”

  • What is being transformed?

“and may your spirit and soul and body be preserved complete,”

  • When will our transformation be complete?

“without blame at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. Faithful is He who calls you, and He also will bring it to pass.”

  • How does transformation happen?

Walk in the SPIRIT

“But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not carry out the desire of the flesh…  But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control;” Galatians 5:16, 23 NASB 95

Walk in the TRUTH

“If you continue in My word, then you are truly disciples of Mine; and you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free.”  John 8:31-32 NASB 95

Walk in LOVE

“But for right now, until that completeness, we have three things to do to lead us toward that consummation: Trust steadily in God, hope unswervingly, love extravagantly. And the best of the three is love.” 1 Corinthians 13:13 MSG

“Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance…But love will last forever!” 1 Corinthians 13:4-8 NLT
