“Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die;” John 11:25 NIV

THE BLESSINGS OF THE RESURRECTION OF JESUS:

1. It assures us of God’s forgiveness

  • Confidence in our past

“And if Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins. Then those also who have fallen asleep in Christ are lost. If only for this life we have hope in Christ, we are of all people most to be pitied.” 1 Corinthians 15:14 NIV

2. It assures us of God’s power

  • Courage for the present

I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better. I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people, and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is the same as the mighty strength he exerted when he raised Christ from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms, far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every name that is invoked, not only in the present age but also in the one to come.” Ephesians 1:17-21 NIV

3. It assures us of God’s triumph

  • Conviction for the future

“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade. This inheritance is kept in heaven for you, who through faith are shielded by God’s power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time. In all this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials.” 1 Peter 1:3-6 NIV

OH, AND DON’T FORGET:

  • A new body

“By the power that enables him to bring everything under his control, will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like his glorious body” Philippians 3:21 NIV

  • A new house

“But in keeping with His promise we are looking forward to a new heaven and a new earth, the home of righteousness.” 2 Peter 3:13 NIV

  • Perfect work

“No longer will there be anything accursed, but the throne of God and of the Lamb will be in it, and his servants will serve him.” Revelation 22:3

  • Perfect friendships

“Listen, I will tell you a mystery! We will not all die, but we will all be changed.” 1 Corinthians 15:51
