Pastor Marc Bullion
Four characters who missed the first Christmas, why they missed it, and what we can learn from them:
1. The Inn Keeper (Luke 2:7)
- He missed Christmas because of busyness
Question: What do you need to change or slowdown from in order to make room for Christ this Christmas?
2. Religious Leaders (Matthew 2:4-6)
- They missed Christmas because of their pridefulness
- Self-righteousness: Am I depending on Christ alone for being right with God?
- Self-sufficiency: Am I depending upon Christ to meet every need in my life?
3. Herod (Matthew 2:16)
- He missed Christmas because of selfishness
Questions: What do you need to stop trying to control or stop worrying about in your circumstances, whether it be difficulties or ambition?
Who do you need to stop trying to control and give over to Jesus?
4. The People Of Nazareth (Luke 4:14-28)
- They missed the meaning of Christmas because of callousness
Questions: Are you going through the motions in your walk?
Do you really have a walk?
Is your faith going forward or stuck in neutral?
