Devoted (H)ARE YOU READY?

The truth is, we are what we are devoted to. To be devoted to something or someone means to be fully committed to them with everything you are and everything you have. The Christian life is one of devotion and commitment. However, first and foremost, God is devoted and committed to us: “We love Him because He first loved us.” 1 John 4:19

The purpose of Novation Church is to fulfill Jesus’ command to make fully devoted followers of Him (Matthew 28:16-20). As followers of Jesus we need to know what He expects of us as individuals and as a church. This four week series is designed to help each of us know what it means to be committed members of the local church  – and to know that each of us has committed in our hearts to be devoted to Christ and one another.

At Novation Church our vision is to be a modern expression of the devotion of the early church:

“They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. Everyone was filled with awe at the many wonders and signs performed by the apostles. All the believers were together and had everything in common. They sold property and possessions to give to anyone who had need. Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.” Acts 2:42-47
