 2 Samuel 6

Worshipis ascribing worth and value to something or someone

We were createdfor worship (Isaiah 45:6-7, Colossians 1:15-20)

Worship is a lifestyle(Colossians 3:24-25, 1 Corinthians 10:31)

Worship is also expressive. It is an outward expression of an inward reality.

       Through music (Psalm 150)

Through singing (Psalm 101:1)

Through thankfulness (Psalm 95:2)

Through raising our hands, clapping, bowing & kneeling in reverence
(Psalm 63:4, 47:1, 95:6)

Worship is a means & evidence of being filledwith the Holy Spirit (Ephesians 5:18-21)

The Heart of A Worshipper:

  • Is unafraid to be expressive

“And David danced before the Lord with all his might, wearing a priestly garment.” 2 Samuel 6:14 NLT

  • Is truly focused on God

David retorted to Michal, “I was dancing before the Lord…” 2 Samuel 6:21 NLT

  • Is longing to grow deeperin the Lord

“Yes, and I am willing to look even more foolish than this, even to be humiliated in my own eyes!” 2 Samuel 6:22 NLT
