Day 13 – Psalm 119:97-104 – Mem (Click here)

You might feel a little discouraged after reading these verses.  I did.  These verses paint a picture that is likely not true for most of us.  We don’t have God’s Word on our minds all day long, they are not our constant guide, and I often don’t possess more insight or wisdom than others around me.  But we can find two encouragements in these verses; 1. Jesus Christ lived his life exactly as these verses describe.  He loved God’s words, he was wiser than his enemies, he had more insight than his teachers and more wisdom than his elders (even as a young boy).  Jesus refused to walk any evil path (even when tempted by Satan himself), he never turned away from God’s law, and he hated every falsehood.  But most important; Jesus did all of that for us.  2.  We have the same resources that Jesus had when we walked on earth. It wasn’t some form of magic or inherited trait.  Jesus worked hard to know God’s Word and lived out the deep, life-enriching benefits that are described in these verses.
