“Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think.” Ephesians 3:20 NLT

“Jesus replied, “What is impossible with men is possible with God.”  Luke 18:27 NIV

“Sovereign LORD, you made the earth and the sky by your great power and might; nothing is too difficult for you.” Jeremiah 32:17 TEV

1. God is able to fulfill seemingly impossible callings on our lives

“Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see. This is what the ancients were commended for…And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.” Hebrews 11:16 NIV

“God is looking for those through whom He can do the impossible. What a pity that we settle for only those things we can do ourselves.” AW Tozer

  • An impossible calling is something that God calls you to do that will require faith and obedience in spite of circumstances and the opinion of others

(Acts 20:22-24, Genesis 17:9-19, 18:10-15, 21:17)

  • An impossible calling is a calling that will require the power of God and is something you could never do on your own or in your own strength

“For nothing is impossible with God.” Mary responded, “I am the Lord’s servant, and I am willing to accept whatever he wants. May everything you have said come true…” Luke 1:37-38 NLT

“For with God nothing is ever impossible and no word from God shall be without power or impossible of fulfillment…let it be done to me according to what you have said.” Luke 1:37-38 AMP

“Never underestimate the power of a personal word from God and never hesitate to say yes to His plan for your life.” James Ryle

  • God does not always initiate impossible callings; sometimes they come by the choice of His followers

“…Perhaps the LORD will act in our behalf. Nothing can hinder the LORD from saving, whether by many or by few.” 1 Samuel 14:6 NIV

2. God is able to get you through what seem like impossible challenges

“Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.” James 1:2-4 NIV

  • A trial or a test that will require endurance, hope, and surrender.

(Mark 9:15-25, Matthew 9:20, Genesis 50:20)

  • Uncooperative people, unexplainable circumstances, unbearable pain
