October 9th – November 27th
In his letter to the Philippians, the Apostle Paul uses the word JOY at least sixteen times. Jesus promised His joy to his disciples in John 15:11. His joy is a joy that supersedes any joy this world can offer. It is a joy that is eternal and it is joy not dependent on circumstances.
The ironic part of Philippians is that Paul wrote his letter from prison, hardly a place that embodies joy. Paul was put in prison for declaring the Gospel… the very same reason he could be joyful under these difficult circumstances – he knew Who his hope was truly in. This letter is rich in joy-filled truth.
