Leadership Team

Pastor Scott and Janell Applegate

Scott and Janell are thrilled to be part of the team serving Novation Church. As individuals and as a couple they have experienced their own Novation Story and are ready and willing to tell everyone about the amazing work of redemption and restoration God has done in their lives. Jesus said in John 16:33: “… Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.”  Their life experience has taught them that things do not always go as planned or hoped for, and that trials and sorrows are a foundational part of building a life on the unshakable, eternal hope that is found only in Jesus Christ.  Therefore, their passion is to see people get the new beginning and fresh start that Jesus Christ offers to us all and to help others find the healing and hope that only He can provide.Scott has over 19 years of experience as a pastor and God willing many more to come. He has a Masters Degree in Biblical studies (American Christian College & Seminary), Bachelors Degree in Pastoral Ministry (Trinity College), and Associates  Degree in Pastoral Ministry (Rocky Mountain Bible Institute). In his time as a pastor he has been privileged to work with youth, young adult/college-aged, marriage and family ministry, men’s ministry, and as a teaching pastor to the general congregation.

Their other full-time job is raising three amazing kids.  They love baseball (and are sure it is God’s favorite sport).  They do not take themselves too serious, but they do take Christ serious and His call on their lives. They love to have fun and be authentic; they pray you will find authentic faith and community at Novation Church.

Pastor Marc and Becki Bullion – Children’s Ministry and Youth Ministry

Marc and Becki are excited to share in the lives of the children and families of Novation Church.  They have been married for 20 years and have two children, Kade (12) and Lelia (10). Marc has more than 11 years of experience in pastoral ministry.Together they oversee and lead our children’s and youth programs.

Marc holds a Master’s Degree in Elementary Education and has taught for over 10 years.  Becki has years of serving along side of Marc.  Becki also works full-time as a Medical Assistant.  Both of us have a passion to reach children for Christ.

They realize the important role parents play in the spiritual upbringing of their children.  They know that you as a parent are the most important teacher/leader that your child will ever have.

They believe in bringing the Word of God to life for the children we teach every week.  They utilize all of the children’s senses on a weekly basis; and know that children learn by doing.  They believe that children are never too young to experience what Christ has for them.

He committed his life to Jesus in 2003 while attending training camp with the San Diego Chargers and has walked along side Novation’s lead pastor Scott Applegate since 2006. His role in the Novation leadership team is the culmination of years of prayer and planning. Jill is a nurse in the Orthopedic unit at Rose Medical Center in Denver. She attended the University of Miami where she was a member of the cheerleading team and went on to cheer professionally for the Denver Nuggets. Jill deeply embraces her relationship with Jesus and has identified a passion for building relationships with young women.

Grant Daniel Reed – Worship Pastor

Grant loves encouraging people to think about our loving God, eternity, and the amazing hereafter…especially as we gather every Sunday morning! Life is a drop in the bucket compared to what’s next. He would like to help others connect with that reality. And, hey! Why not have a lot of fun along the way? Serving God isn’t a chore. It’s awesome!

Grant has had to learn a lot of things the hard way in life, and is very grateful for Novation. His life is a Novation story. He has been able to experience new beginnings with Novation – a place of authentic faith and community. It’s a place where people can be greatly encouraged in their faith and gain practical insight for life’s challenges.

His greatest success is life has been to marry his wonderful and patient wife, Katie. They are so thankful for their beautiful daughter, Grace. Grant is a middle school science teacher, and Katie is a gifted school psychologist.

Grant holds a Bachelors in Bible with a minor in Family Psychology from Oklahoma Baptist University. As part of his minor, he was a student at Focus on the Family’s Leadership Institute in Colorado Springs and fell in love with Colorado. As part of his major, he was fortunate to live in Jerusalem, study the nation, the geography, the culture, and the biblical history. He holds a Master’s degree in ministry from Southwestern Seminary in Ft. Worth, a post-bachelors in Biochemistry from the University of Texas at Arlington, and his Teaching License in Secondary Science from Colorado Christian University.

They look forward to being a part of the many lives still to be impacted by Novation in the future!
